My legs are officially toast! Yesterdays’ 5k definitely put a damper on my performance today…shins were so sore when my feet hit the floor this morning & they never really loosened up. My body & heart wanted to rock this course today but my legs had other plans. I had to walk many times, even on a few of the flat sections just to get my legs to stop spasming. My plan was 53:00-54:00…57:00 will have to suffice (I really wanted to run a minute per mile faster than my last training run on that course). This is a PR for a 10k trail run for me. My last (& only) 10k trail run was the Hocking Hills Indian Run last fall & that was a 1:04 & a 2nd place AG finish–so 7 minutes faster today! Todays’ AG’s was in 10 year increments rather than 5 so I ended up 12th of 83 in the 40-49, 59th female out of 294 & 166th overall of 452. The best part of today was hanging out with my RUNDMC family…we had a great time & a bunch of us went out for brunch at Champs afterwards. The weather conditions were great…horrid headwind the last 1/2 mile kind of killed the end kick & probably cost everyone a good minute but other than that, it was great! I am feeling pretty BA with 2 PR’s in 2 days!!!
